“The meaning of life is whatever you ascribe it to be. Being alive is the meaning.” ―Joseph Campbell
Life is defined by humans as a source of power, a life force that invigorates us to live each day each and every person has their own definition of life.
What is your purpose in life? Does the purpose really exist? If yes ...what defines this purpose and how do we know what this purpose is?
It is all based on 4 foundations :-
Values -
The lowest foundation is your values.
This starts with your family and it sets the foundation of your upbringing if you're going to be in to sports or academics.
Learning -
The next level is the experiences that mould you want to help you characterise and know what kind of a person you are that will help you define yourself and help you find who you want to be that will give you perspective on your goals. This helps you focus and maintain tunnel vision on what you what is your purpose is on earth.
Adapt -
The next level is the way we adapt to situations and conditions to further our interest or careers in such a way that we fit in, also known as social validation. Humans are social beings and we as humans tend to adapt to situations where we are recognised and rewarded rather than being an outcast.
People tend to have this certain urge for other people to like them, as herd mentality is prominent, where you always want to fit in rather than stand out we tend to learn and abide with things that work in our favour rather than not in our favour this is the dynamics of the situation that changes us.
Conquer -
Last but not least, conquering this very purpose or meaning that we find in our own perspectives all these levels defines the purpose that we are looking to conquer, we find it within our palm and grasp it.
What is after the end?
But what of when you finish and conquer that very purpose of yours. Does life not have meaning then ? What do we do after that? Do we look for a new purpose or do we just sit there wasting the rest of our life?
Once we conquer this perspective that everyone just has one purpose that's when we'll start to live. You might be familiar with the quote, ‘Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery but today is a gift that is why it is called the present.’ People in the midst of finding the mean purpose forget to live their life.
One must understand today maybe we may live but there is no promise for tomorrow.
Life is short one must find purpose in themself. The best way to start that is by self-validation rather than social validation. Once, you are happy with yourself and take things to step by step is when you begin to really live. One must do things that ignites the soul and doesn’t diminish it by temporary things that validate us for just a certain duration.
Wake up every day and have that will to live not for something else but because you choose to.
